The Northern Illinois Press Association hosts a yearly Yearbook Contest to promote and recognize excellence in high school annuals.

In addition to overall excellence, the contest judges photography, design, advertising and writing excellence. Area high schools compete in four divisions based on enrollment size.

NISPA awards bronze, silver, gold certificates, as well as a Golden Eagle trophy in the Yearbook Contest. Advisers submit entries by the end of January. Winners are announced in April at the Spring Conference at the College of DuPage.
